Full Spectrum Pacemaker Battery Charger

Full Spectrum Pacemaker Battery Charger

Full Spectrum Pacemaker Battery Charger

The Pacemaker is the only maintenance charger specifically designed to work with lithium lightweight motorcycle batteries. The Pacemaker will work with our award-winning Pulse and Genesis battery systems. The Pacemaker is fully automatic, ensuring that your lightweight battery is always properly charged. LED indicator lights alert you to the state of charge of your system at a glance.

Additional Information:

  • Capabilities: This charger will work with all Full Spectrum Power battery systems as well as most other 12v lithium lightweight motorcycle batteries.
  • Dimensions: 4"x2"x1".
  • Applications: All Full Spectrum Power batteries.

Battery Charging Information:

Full Spectrum Power lightweight motorcycle batteries come fully charged and ready to install. Even if left on the shelf for 6 months your lightweight motorcycle battery will be within 95% of full capacity. You do not need to charge your new battery system prior to installation. Once running, a properly functioning motorcycle should be using the charging system to power the electrical components on the bike. This would include the headlights, ECU, CDI, PC3, and any other devices that require 12v power. The motorcycle's charging system will also recharge a Full Spectrum Power lightweight battery.

Charging a Full Spectrum Power lightweight motorcycle battery with a charger requires a device designed specifically for lithium LiFeP04 battery technology. Charging with devices designed for lead-acid batteries can damage your battery and will void your warranty. While it would be very convenient to be able to reuse our Battery Tender type devices on lithium batteries, it is not a good idea. This is a totally new technology, and as such, the supporting systems and tools need to change with it. When fuel injection replaced carburetors, mercury sticks became obsolete. When radial tires replaced bias-ply tires, the 4.5 inch rim was replaced by 5.5 and 6 inch rims. Same thing happened with damper rod forks, air and oil cooled engines, and so on. Lightweight batteries are just the latest example.

The explanation for this required change in chargers is mostly due to the firmware which controls all modern battery chargers, including CTEK, Battery Tender, and most commercially availabe chargers. This firmware was written for lead acid batteries in 12v configuration. In a 12v lead acid battery, there are 6 cells, each at roughly 2v, wired in series. Lithium LiFeP04 batteries are 13.2v, with 4 cells, each at roughly 3.3, wired in series. So, a charger whose firmwarm is designed to "look" for 6 cells, "sees" 4 cells, it will either under-charge, over-charge, or not charge at all.

Why is Full Spectrum Better Than The Rest?

See what separates Full Spectrum from the other lightweight-battery companies out there.

  • Not all lightweight batteries are created equal. Full Spectrum has designed all of their components in their own Virginia facility. This includes their patented casing, billet brass terminals, cell isolators, amp bars and every other component that went into the Pulse battery. They don't outsource, but rather build their own batteries in-house.
  • Full Spectrum has built a battery that will deliver higher current, at the most consistent voltage, with less heat, for longer periods of time, than any other battery on the market.
  • Every component in the Pulse batteries is manufactured in the USA. This includes all of the components which they have designed, as well as the cells they use. Full Spectrum strongly believe in buying the best possible source material from local businesses and have gone to great lengths to ensure that this is done.
  • Full Spectrum Power uses the highest quality cell in all of our systems. They do not use a "proprietary" cell, nor do they use a "high quality" cell. They exclusively use A123 26650M1 cells, purchased directly from A123 Systems. This is the finest LiFeP04 cell on the planet, and is the only thing they use.
  • Since 2008 Full Spectrum has won hundreds of championships with riders around the world in roadracing, drag racing, motorcross, land speed, and every other discipline. In the US they have won more championships than all other performance batteries combined. When a multi-million dollar race team depends on every component doing its job in support of their goals, Full Spectrum doesn't fail.

Additional Information:

  • Generally, you will have to pay closer attention to this style of battery system compared to your average lead-acid battery.
  • We discourage the use of a Battery Tender (and similar) devices on all of Full Spectrum Power battery systems for extended periods of time. Over time, these devices can damage your Full Spectrum Power lithium ferrous battery system. Consider what happens when you leave a cell phone on a charger all the time - the battery loses significant capacity and its life span is shortened.
  • Remember that once running, a motorcycle will mostly use the alternator/generator to power everything on the bike; headlights, ECU, CDI, Power Commander, etc.
  • Reminder: Chargers not specifically designed for lithium LiFeP04 cells are only to be used in an emergency.
